Allen County TRIAD

Working to reduce criminal victimization and unwarranted fear of crime affecting the elderly

TRIAD is a program of the National Sheriffs' Association that teams local law enforcement agencies and senior organizations to work toward reducing criminal victimization and unwarranted fear of crime affecting older adults.

The Allen County TRIAD was formed in 1995 with the goal of providing education, information, awareness, and resources to seniors in the county.

TRIAD members are committed to improving the quality of life for seniors and developing a safer environment in which to live.

TRIAD Goals

1. Educate: Sponsor crime prevention and victim/witness programs for older adults.
2. Assist: Recruit and train volunteers to assist the police and sheriff's departments.
3. Emphasize: Staff reassurance programs for older persons to reduce fear and provide moral support.
4. Communicate: Provide a forum for law enforcement to share needs and then develop solutions.
5. Involve: Unite seniors, sheriffs, and local police to identify problem areas for seniors in the community and then develop and implement community-wide solutions.
